The app file is in the applications folder. In /Users/"username"/Parallels/ folder is the .pvm file. In /Users/"username"/Applications (Parallels)/Windows 11 Applications/ , are a ton of Win11 apps.

I believe (and am hoping) this is just the vanilla, default install - purchasing and installing win pro right from within a new parallels install.

I've never been able to keep up with Microsoft's numbering scheme. Different channels will have different versions. I have VMs on the release and release candidate channels.

    Hey guys,

I am having a very similar issue. 2024-05 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for arm64-based Systems (KB5037853) with Install error - 0x800f0845
I had Parallels 19.3, updated to 19.4.0 today and still the issue persists.

    Thank you,

FYI - need to be logged in with a Microsoft account that is a member of Microsoft Insider - anyone not logged in, or with an MS account that doesn't have that designation, will not have access to that ticket link.

Having the same problems as well. Windows gets to 30% installation then reboots into automatic recovery mode. Received 0x8007000d yesterday on first attempt then 0x800f0845 today. I did submit feedback on the feedback hub but I have a feeling this is a Parallels problem as similar issues with updates have happened before requiring a Parallels hotfix to be released.

I have the same problem with KB5037853. Don't know it's about Microsoft side or Parallels side

I have the same problem as well. The system wants to restart after the update and ends up in a bluescreen.

Hi everyone, please accept my apologies for the delay in our response, I am very sorry about that.
Currently, our engineers are looking for the root cause of this issue. Rest assured, we will fix it as soon as possible.

UPD: we are working with Microsoft on this issue, and the resolution is in the works.
UPD2: There is an update from Microsoft: "We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release." (see known issues in this article)

I too am having issues on Mac Studio M2 Ultra running Paraells Business Edition Version 19.4.0 (54962)

Downloads and then fails to install and resets itself and its a continuous loop and installing and failing and then re installing?

Same here... tried Microsoft Support and they sent me to Parallels Support, and since this is the only place where I'm seeing people complaining about this issue, I am assuming the problem is related to parallels. Please fix it because it's annoying.

Same for me. After installing KB5037853 my VMs cannot boot anymore, running into the BitLocker screen.

I do not use bit locker at all. Minimized Win11 VM (using NTLite), for some DX11 and prior games, but mostly testing / dev / apps that are Windows only. Cannot boot on install, but lots of processor activity indefinitely. If I force a shutdown, it will revert the update, tell me it failed, and offer again. Repairs after doing scan disk within windows, running Windows Maintenance from control panel, admin terminal for Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks, and then chkdsk C: /f /r on a reboot.

All is fine reverted, but same occurs if attempting to update again. I gave up on the insider program because of instability. This is the general release build so I am unsure why MS is even pushing a cumulative update "preview" to this install.

Same as above for me. Finished and Windows update, restarted machine, now getting bootup error. Also asks for Bitlocker Key that was never setup.
