Windows PVM disappeared after updating Parallels to version 27.0.0.

I just updated Parallels to version 27.0.0. Now, Parallels is asking me to install a new copy of Windows 11. My existing Windows virtual machine is nowhere to be found — it seems like Parallels may have deleted it during the update.


Does anyone have any ideas on how I can recover or locate my existing virtual machine?

Upon going through it, we observe that you have a virtual machine located in the below location:
/Users/USERNAME/Library/Group Containers/4C6364ACXT.com.parallels.desktop.appstore/Shared/Parallels/Windows 11.pvm

This path usually refers to virtual machines created while you had Parallels Desktop Appstore edition installed.

In order to locate the PVM file, please follow the below steps:
1. Open Finder and press the below key combination to show hidden folders:
Command + Shift + .

2. While Finder is in focus, click on Go from the top menu bar > Go to Folder…
3. Paste the below path and press Enter:
/Users/USERNAME/Library/Group Containers/4C6364ACXT.com.parallels.desktop.appstore/Shared/Parallels
4. Check if your virtual machine is present in this location and you may copy it over to any other preferred locations. You may also double-click on it to launch it and add it to the Parallels Control Center.
