A long time ago I made a Alfred Workflow (Launch App File) and not so long ago I use Apple Shortcuts to start the Virtual Machine. Now in Alfred and In Apple Shortcuts I use Bash: prlctl start VM. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Well for me its quite simple to reproduce. Close Parallels Control center and open it back and it always displays the messages of the OP. However mine is to select between Parallels and Crossover to handle the .LNK. No matter what answer I give to the prompt it is displayed again every time Parallels is started.

Kindly provide us with a technical report for our internal investigation (click Parallels icon || > Help > Send technical data > check "Attach screenshots..." > press Send Report) and send the report's 9-digit ID.

Report ID 516286427 sent. But I'm not sure how to attach a screenshot showing that the message no longer pops up.
I pressed "Change" when updating to the previous version and got no more the question. The problem is that trying to open a file from Windows 11 VM in an Mac application launches the Mac application (for example Adobe Lightroom for .CR3 files or Adobe Acrobat for .PDF files) correctly but doesn't load the document. I have updated to Version 26.3.0 (57392) and also re-installed Parallels Desktop for Mac, but it didn't correct the issue. Is this the same bug?
I don't know why the update fixed the problem for me. I'm on an Intel Mac if that matters.
Could someone that has this problem to the following: Create a file, like a blank text file, and change the name to end in ".lnk". Right click on the file and select "Get Info" and report what it says under "Open with:". Mine shows itpening with "Parallels Link (default)".

Same here on an Intel Mac with Tahoe 26.4. On 26.2 no pop-up, after update to macOS 26.4 every time I open the Parallels Desktop app the pop-up is triggered. As @JohnG28 noted, the identifier 'com.parallels.SharedAppLink.Agent' is associated with 'Parallels Link.app' located in /Applications/Parallels Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS'. Double-clicking this app once apparently solved the issue for me. Now when I open the Parallels Desktop app or double-click on any pvm bundle it doesn't trigger that pop-up.
