Parallels desktop 10: "You have reached the maximum number of activations available"

Hi Paul Chris,

A while ago I wrote a post @ https://forum.parallels.com/threads/non-developer-friendly-license.330005/, and how people working in a technical capacity may have issues with Parallels due to the archaic licensing model. Is this something that you have yet to discuss internally or can one expect a reasonably resolution any time soon?

As of now it is a major impediment in using your product and with such a huge limitation hidden in fine print you are only doing yourself a disservice.

Happy Friday!

Best,
Henrik

Henrik, I couldn't have agreed more. I think Parallels mgmt need to understand software management of 2010's. If your business model is to come up with a newer version of a product every year, and you want to motive people to shell out money to upgrade every year, then license management needs to be easier. I think if they put parelles on App Store and allowed people to install on 5 machines per apple policy, a lot more people will adopt it and then eventually upgrade every year because it so much easier to click one button to buy/install/re-install.

Agreed. I will not be continuing to support Parallels once my subscription is up. Not having a single user license is absolutely ridiculous. Like so many users I'm in a desktop+laptop scenario and only ever using one or the other. To have buy two separate RE-OCCURING licenses for just myself so I can use parallels whether I'm on my laptop or the desktop (only ever on one or the other) is asinine; the situation is driven by pure greed on Parallels part. I can already see how in 5 years from now I will be spending $5,000 a year just in software subscription costs. Beyond livid at Parallels at this point.

Hello,

I am also having this problem. I migrated to a new system and am getting the same error message. I have signed out of parallels on my old system but am still not able to activate the new Mac. Please help reset my license.

Hi,
I am also getting same issue with Parallels Desktop 9. Uninstalled deleted everything on old computer, but it still complains on new computer. Please help me this

Same here,
I can not run Parallels on my Macbook any longer, only on my Mac.
Is there a solution to this??
Everybody nowadays is working with a Mac and a Macbook of some sort.
