macOS 26.4 on Apple M2 Max hardware. Update to 26.4 caused the pop-up to start appearing. ".lnk" was not associated with any application. Double-clicking the "Parallels Link.app" associated ".lnk" with "Parallels Link.app" and I have had no further issues with pop-ups, no matter how the pvms are launched, as reported by AndreasS49.

I spent a long time wondering which options to choose. Neither of them meant anything to me.
As the message indicated that 'CrossOver' had been opened in the past, I opted for that option, with the result (though it's not proven that there's a causal link) that the screen initially remained black when I tried to start Windows 11.
I ignored this at first because I didn't know what to do. Every time the Mac restarted, Parallels was reloaded (because I'd enabled the option to reload all programmes at startup), the Windows screen was still black, and I continued to ignore Windows until, suddenly, it started up normally without any action on my part. Strange, but it suited me just fine, of course.

This is still a problem, been 3 months. This and the Steam launch problem has been not a good experience lately.

Last version, Parallels 26.3.0, and MacOS 26.4 solved this problem for me

Parallels version 26.3.0 (57392) on an M5Max MBP with MacOS version 26.5 Beta (25F5042g), and it's still happening to me as of this morning.

I have this issue on MacOS 26.4.1. I'm on 26.2.2 and I'm not seeing any new Parallels versions when I check for updates.

I manually downloaded the automated installed which installed 26.3 and the prompt is no longer appearing.

I had a shared with Mac "Shut Down Windows.lnk" file on my Mac desktop > went into Get Info > changed the open with to Parallels Desktop.app > Change All > went back in and then updated it again to Parallels Link.app (default) > change all > restarted my Windows VM and it seemed to have fixed it. Ultimate test is shutting down the whole system and going from scratch, but looks promising.

I don't know if this additional step had anything to do with it, but I also reset all dialog warnings in Parallels preferences > advanced.

So far so good. The pop up does not appear anymore even after a full shut down of my system.
