Windows 7, mouse trapped in VM window

In Windows 7 my mouse gets trapped in the VM window, requiring ctrl+alt to release it every time. My XP VM does not behave like this, the mouse moving seamlessly between the VM window and the OSX desktop.

I have tried re-installing Parallels Tools, but without solving it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Mike

Hello, Mike,

please, go to Control panel -> Administrative tools -> Computer management -> Device manager, select Mice and other pointing devices, right-click -> Properties -> Driver and let us know what do you have there

Thanks for quick reply!

The window is called "Microsoft PS/2 Mouse Properties"

Driver provider: Microsoft
Driver date: 21/06/2006
Driver version: 6.1.7000.0
Digital signer: Microsoft Windows

Under Driver File details button is has:

Driver files:
C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\i8042prt.sys
C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\mousclass.sys

and File Version: 6.1.7000.0 (winmain_win7beta.081212-14000)

I tried updating driver, but it said it had latest.

BTW I am using a Logitech MX mouse with Steermouse software in OSX, but have also tried pugging in a wired apple mightymouse which behaves the same.

Hope this helps.

Problem Solved

I uninstalled Parallels tools then reinstalled them, and all was well.

Previously I had simply run the Parallels tools installer again, without uninstalling first.
