Windows 7 loses internet connection

Hi there,

I just bought Parallels and I have this kind of problem with Internet connection. Windows seems to lose Internet connection even though it is working perfectly on OS X. This is very disturbing especially when playing online games. Anyone have had similar problems?

Edit: and when I turn off and switch back Parallels Ethernet adapter it starts to work immediately.

Hi Jussi,

Please try (re)installing Parallels Tools as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/4841 (Make sure to disable Windows Firewall and Antivirus while installing Parallels Tools)
Once Parallels Tools are installed, go to Virtual Machine Configure(http://kb.parallels.com/117287) -> Hardware -> Network1 -> change Type to 'Bridged' (Default network).
And let us know how it goes!

Hi Abdul,

Thanks for your answer! That seems to work better with WiFi connection when working from home but when I am using Internet connection of my University, in which you need separate authentication via website to use the connection, bridged mode ruins it in OSX and Windows both. Shared connection works a bit better but disconnects as explained earlier.

I have very similar problems in both Shared and Bridged. The Parallels internet is almost useless for me as it keeps slowing down and disconnecting. It's good to see the support team stopped helping you as well..
