Can anyone tell me if Parallels 12 will allow a complicated combat flight simulator to run on my MacBook Pro. Specifically I want to run either Falcon 4 Allied Force or preferably, the more recent Falcon BMS 4.33. I have a MacBook Pro OS X Sierra 10.12.4 currently running Parallels 11 with Windows 10 but will upgrade to 12 once I know whether either flight simulator will run correctly with Parallels 12 on my Mac.
Hello @ScottM10. Please refer to the software vendor to check whether the said program is actually compatible with virtualized environments. If it's not, we can still run the program in a virtual machine, but results cannot be guaranteed. Secondly, please check for the system requirements of the program and try to tune the virtual machine's performance accordingly [for video performance, please open the virtual machine configuration window, navigate to Hardware -> Graphics and assign 1 GB of graphic memory for Windows. Then, select 'DirectX 10' for '3D Acceleration' and enable 'Vertical Synchronization' under 'Advanced Options'. This is all the graphics resources that the virtual machine will need. As for RAM/CPU performance, navigate to Hardware --> CPU & Memory and ensure that the number of processors is 2 (or 1 if total number of processors is < 4) and RAM is at least 2 GB (or 3 GB if total Mac RAM is 8 GB, or 4 GB if total Mac RAM is > 8 GB). If total Mac RAM is only 4 GB, then allocate 1.5 GB RAM for Windows]. These settings give your program the best chance for a stable performance in Windows.
