Upgrade PD7 to PD9 : Activation problem with the code

Hello. I have an activation code for PD7 and want to install PD9. I recently installed the Yosemite OSX onto my MacBook Pro. While I have managed to successfully install PD9 onto my machine, I'm running into trouble with my PD7 activation code. According to the relevant documentation, I should be able to use my PD7 code, but I'm running into this error message:

"This key cannot be used with Parallel Desktop Build 9.0.24251. For details, please click here (http://kb.parallels.com/en/111769/).

Any ideas/suggestions? Thank you!
 
Hi Travis,

You have to enter Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac license key in order to activate Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac.

Also I checked your records with your email address and couldn't locate any records of your version 9 license key.
Have you purchased Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac ? If you have purchased , please follow the steps as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/116848
