Unofficial fix for Linux Guest OS Parallels Tools with Xorg 1.4 version

I'm beginning to wonder why we're waiting for an incremental update (that's a week overdue) when a new version of the software (which undoubtedly will not be free) is supposed to be released approximately four weeks later. This isn't looking kosher.

How I get right-click in Ubuntu 8.04

Ok, not quite, but good enough for now...

I followed the earlier instructions in this thread to get a copy of parallels-tools that worked and tweaked the configuration as per instructions for matching video-resolution, etc.

Then in Ubuntu I turned on "assistive technologies". Now go to the Mouse settings and turn on Simulated Secondary Click under Accessibility. Now I can hold down the left-click to get a right click. Works pretty well actually.

wow... i just ran into this problem and the fix is posted today. ;)

but!

I have a german localized version of parallels desktop for mac. Any chance for a german localized build?

and just a hint:
please consider to build a adapter pattern alike wrapper to encapsulate your driver, for it is possible to let the "user" compile parallels tools against various xorg versions(via commandline installer script or something like that). look at the way the nvidia linux driver does its installation, that should be possible for xorg and parallels tools too.
