unable to uses screen vidio capture

unable to use screen capture using vido since I suspect i changed and updated computor to MOS Catalina v 10.15
if I click on record screen it now refuses to record ,giving me the click on area icon in the dock ,but when i click on the screen i want videoed it throws up a error message saying error fault unable to record
It takes screen shots ok but nothing to do with videoing the screen
Have just uninstalled it ,and download it again in case of corruption ,now cant open the downloaded file to reinstall

It will help to investigate this issue.

Also, please check if Record Window works or not.
