I have Parallels Desktop 20 running on MacBook Pro M4 with Tahoe 24.4.1
Everything work perfectly while the virtual machine was on the Mac hard drive and before Mac upgrades to Tahoe.
At some point I move the virtual machine on and external SSD (Lexar) and from that moment I'm not more able to restore the VM from suspension.

Every time I get and error message: "Image" cannot be resumed. Unable to restore the virtual machine state because the file containing this state is damaged. The virtual machine will be restarted.
When I press OK I got another message that says: The Mac or "Image" configuration has been changed since "Image" was suspended.
You can restart "Image" to use it now, but all unsaved data will be lost.

I already checked all the support suggestion I found around the web. I also reinstall everything from zero directly on the external SSD (just to be sure was no a file move issue). No luck so far. The new image show the issue from the first suspension.

The only think I've not yet tested is to create the virtual machine in the Mac internal disk, but I'd like to have on the removable drive to save Mac space and because I use the Windows Virtual machine not so frequently.

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks

Quick update. I made a try installing Windows 11 on the internal hard drive. In this case it works as expected.

Why on the external harddrive it doesn't works?
