Ubuntu installations fail

After running through the Ubuntu install options, I eventually get a screen that says "Sorry, there was a problem completing the installation." I have tried, many times, with Ubuntu 24.04.x and 24.10.

I got the issue,

I'm not able too finish the install on any *nix VMs. So far, SL Micro, Tumbleweed, Ubuntu...

I'm seeing problems installing Ubuntu LTS 24.04.1 on an M4 running parallels Version 20.1.2 (55742) on macOS 15.2.
The installation process crashes somewhat randomly. I captured the details of one of them where mkinitramfs received a SIGILL when invoked (see attached file).
I've also seen this pop up on dmesg in an older Ubuntu LTS 18.04 installation:

I started a support request and found this: https://kb.parallels.com/130273
Apparently, installation is unstable if the VM has more than 1 CPU enabled.
Changing my VM from the default to 2 CPUs to 1 CPU did indeed stabilize the VM and I was able to successfully install Ubuntu.
