Like jmaass I'm running the Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5608 German Version and I agree, again we've got to wait months till you fix major problems. Some people have to work with the guest systems, the flaws are costing time and money. A test of the version 2.0 of a certain competitor showed Ubuntu 8.04.1 runs smoothly on it. Sooner or later your customers will get tired of waiting ...
Really VM Fusion works with Ubuntu 804?
I'm tired of waiting... if VM Fusion works better with Ubuntu, I'm there. I think Parallels only cares about the Windows crowd anyway. Which is too bad. has anyone been posting in the Ubuntu forums?? I think we should be spreading the word. I will try to do my part in the Mac forums.

The language problem again

The file John points to in the latest post is the ENGLISH version. Unfortunately, users in Germany tend to use the GERMAN version, which apparently does not exist. The ENGLISH version is not compatible with a GERMAN license, so german users should not install it, IMHO.
John, please make sure that Parallels provides build 5624 in localized versions, especially German.
Furthermore, from the Ubuntu announcements mailing list:
This essentially means that Parallels is running out of options as far as Ubuntu is concerned. Ubuntu 7.04 will cease to be supported until October 19th, 2008. Ubuntu 7.10 will most likely follow suit soon. This leaves users running Ubuntu on Parallels with only Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, and that is not properly supported by Parallels.
Time to switch on the backburner, folks...

Ubuntu announced the release of 7.04 almost 18 months ago, on April
19, 2007. As with the earlier releases, Ubuntu committed to ongoing
security and critical fixes for a period of 18 months. The support
period is now nearing its end and Ubuntu 7.04 will reach end of life
on Sunday, October 19th, 2008. At that time, Ubuntu Security Notices will
no longer include information or updated packages for Ubuntu 7.04.
The supported upgrade path from Ubuntu 7.04 is via Ubuntu 7.10.

to version 8.04 LTS and beyond are only supported in multiple steps, via

Ubuntu releases are sent to the ubuntu-security-announce mailing list,
