Ubuntu 24.02 on Parallels for Mac 18 - Wifi Adapter not installed

I don't really believe this is a Parallels problem but I have read there is a problem with not having the driver in Ubuntu. I was surprised that I had no Wifi (had an ethernet connection) on my MacBook Pro Mid 2015 11,5. This one has the Radeon M370X. But because of Apple's proprietary stance I can't really identify which version driver I should install. Here's the hardware support report from my MacBook Pro: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (7.77.111.1 AirPortDriverBrcmNIC-1710.4)
You can see it has the Airport driver, but leaves out specific information on the Broadcom. Has anyone solved this problem and knows exactly which version this Broadcom model, etc that corresponds to a Broadcom driver? I like Ubuntu but I can install a different Linux distro and just begin again if that's the answer. Thanks in advance!
 
Ok I didn't fix the problem but found that even though I get the message that there is no Wifi Adapter installed and this shows for both Ubuntu and Fedora, when I disconnect my ethernet and I'm running on the native Wifi I have internet access. This is strange in that both distro's show only in ethernet net wired port. Since I only wanted to ensure I had a mobile laptop it's working.

As for the Wi-Fi settings in the virtual machine, let us inform you, the virtual machine that underlies Parallels Desktop does not have a wireless adapter.
Parallels Desktop does not natively offer Wireless support (like a virtualized Wireless device). Instead, it connects directly to the Wireless device the Host uses.

So as a solution for you, we can suggest using a USB Wi-Fi adapter and connect it to the virtual machine directly.
 
Thank you for your update and answer. I just started using Parallels and your answer makes perfect sense and after I had disconnected my ethernet I realized there was wifi access. What through me off track was the information I had found online that Ubuntu had a problem with drivers for Broadcom, but as you explained it doesn't matter when using Parallels.
