Ubuntu 20.04.2 ARM64 - Exec format error

Hi - I am new to Ubuntu/Parallels and trying to run this command to start a server:
sudo ./srvctrl start
and getting this:
./srvctrl: 7: Exec format error
Is this to do with M1 Chip - hardware issue?
My equipment:
Mac Mini (M1 2020) macOS 11.6.1(Big Sur)
Appreciate your help.
 
Hello, I have a similar issue.
My setup, Mac book pro 14, 2021
The Clion executable clion-2022.2.1/bin/ninja/linux/ninja
The error is "exec format error".
Which tells me that something in the environment is not a pure arm

Any help is greatly appreciated!
