The right way of connecting Excel with MySQL, using Parallels on Mac

On Apple-machines, running Parallels for Windows, I want to be able to connect (bi-directional) Excel with a MySQL-database.
For pure Windows/Excel there is an "Excel to MySQL" addon, that works great. My question is if this addon will also works with Parallels, or that other solutions are a better way to go.
