suse 10.3 X fails after tools install

Awesome. This fixed my Kubuntu Gutsy install. I know this is a SuSe thread, so sorry for intruding, but this may be a common issue against all Linux Distro's with that version of xorg. Anyway, Thanks!
 
Has anyone figured out how to get suse working with a reasonably sized screen? from a consumers point of view, this flaw has Parallels looking very very very bad. Why should I recommend a buggy non useable product when the alternative works with no troubles. Come on Parallels team, I am on YOUR side for now, even a glimmer of hope that these problems will be addresses will help.
 
[email protected], Parallels team works hard to improve screen size in Suse. Currently you can change the size by the means of your Guest OS. Thank you for your reports. Please sorry for the inconvenience caused.

What do you mean by loosing Tools?
If there are some problems with Parallels Tools, you should probably reinstall them.

I've had days like that also, but that file might as well have been written in Klingon. can you please translate it into steps I can follow? for example: "In the config file for grub menu.lst boot loader," what is the NAME of the file? and Where do i find it?

To run xmode, type it in Console and press Enter.

I don't have anything remotely resembling "modeline" in my xorg.conf file

NOW I understnad the power of the Mac. none of this crap is needed to get a working system :) :) :)

You are expected to get something like this:

1024x768 @ 80.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 64.32 kHz; pclk: 88.50 MHz

Please copy this line and paste it in your xorg.conf file in Section "Monitor" before the line "EndSection".

Restart the guest OS.

I even tried

but got dumped into safe mode, so i edited out the 1st and 3d lines.

next suggestion? fyi, I get full screen in Fedora 7 and Ubuntu 710

You are right, the article has gone out of date. Parallels team apologizes for misleading you. I'm consulting our engineers to get proper instructions. Will let you know as soon as I get them. I'm awfully sorry for this confusing support.

Please open Computer -> Control Center -> Graphics Card and Monitor.
Press "Change" button and choose the proper Monitor type and resolution. Click OK.
Restart your VM.
