Stop disk letter change

Hi everyone,

Is there any way to stop parallels/windows 8.1 to change my external drive's letter? I have my external SSD set to letter (U but now it changed to (V. I have a few softwares that are dependant on the drive letter. If it changes, they cannot find the files so I have to manually relocate them which is annoying. If I go into Disk Management, the external drives aren't listed there so I cannot change the driver letter either.

Please help, thank you!
