Rhino 7 viewports don't refresh with Parallels Desktop 27 OpenGL 4.3 driver (works on 26.4.2)

Since Parallels Desktop 27.0.1 (58670), Rhino 7 (7.38, SR38) on a Windows 11 ARM VM has viewports that don't redraw. Viewports load black or stale, and selecting an object doesn't highlight it in other viewports (sometimes not even in the active one) until that viewport is manually panned. Effectively only one viewport updates at a time. This issue extended to selecting items and them not highlighting, etc.

Rhino reports the driver as OpenGL 4.3, Build 27.0.1, driver version 20.18.2701.58670, dated 26 Aug 2026. Host is a MacBook Pro M1 Max, 64 GB, current macOS Tahoe 26.6.2.

Tested: fresh Windows 11 VM, fresh Rhino 7 install, Rhino's OpenGL level lowered to 3.3, GPU tessellation off, AA off. The boot flag video.gl4=0 improves things but doesn't fully fix it.

Rolling back to Parallels Desktop 26.4.2 (57518) and reinstalling Parallels Tools resolves it completely: Rhino reports OpenGL 4.1, driver 20.18.2642.57518, and all viewports refresh normally with full acceleration.

This looks like a regression in the new Metal-based OpenGL driver in 27, similar to the Rhino issue in 19.0 that was fixed in 19.1.

I'm having a similar issue with DesignBuilder crashing when changing view (to block level) - DesignBuilder also uses OpenGL.

I'm also on an M1 Max with 64GB of RAM, would be interesting to see if that's relevant to the crash.

Rolling back to 26.4.2 also worked for me, apparently they rewrote the Metal/OpenGL driver for version 27.
