I'm encountering a persistent issue with file permissions in shared folders between macOS and my Windows 11 virtual machine on Parallels Desktop. Here's the situation:
No matter which OS I use to create a new file in the shared folder (like "Downloads"), whether it's macOS or Windows, the file always becomes read-only in the other OS.
For now, I tried:
1.restart.
2.reinstall windows.
3.clone a copy of an old but worked win image from old mac.
4.chmod 777 for all. but only worked for existed files
5.umask 000.
6.add windows user to mac folder permission.
7.checked pd setting for win, all the box in shared option are ticked.( and I tried unticked all, restart, tick all, not work)
8.checked the config file, all good.
and, I find that this issue only happened when I create file from gui, like word, textedit. If I creat file from terminal, it looks fine.
SO, ANYONE CAN HELP ME ON THIS?.. IT MAKES ME CRAZY...I TRIED WHOLE DAY BUT STILL CANT FIX.
