Open the .psf file and edit it, then save a copy to your desktop (save as all types, and make sure it saves as .psf), then copy and paste the new version to the directory it should be in with overwrite privileges.

With content that I should modify in the .psf?
Can you give me a screenshot for the file ?
Thank you for help

I found a workaround. The processor architecture needs to be changed in the startup script or .psf file.

- Open <Installation directory>\<datecode>\Parametric\bin\paramteric.psf
- Add the following lines to the beginning of the file:
ENV=PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE=AMD64
ENV=PRO_MACHINE_TYPE=x86e_win64

I tested this with Oreo Parametric 7.0.11.0.

I just want to say thank you so freaking much!! This was a life saver. I don't know much about this computer VOODOO stuff with scripts and what not. But Omg it worked!!! I cant thank you enough! (now do you know how I could get my ansys to work properly it says I need "OPEN GL >4.5")

I have the same problem and I don't know why. If we can run solidworks on it (refers to the specification on the website) that means Creo should work very well but it's not the case.
If someone have a solution to avoids the slowness ?

Hi, I tried this on the new M3 chip, and the workaround also works here so far (fingers crossed it stays that way)

Hi, i want to run Creo Illustrate and have the same problem but there is no paramteric.psf file to edit.
Have anyone a solution?

Hey guys, has anyone been experimenting around with this? I just got Creo running and open (make sure you restart after install and changing the parameters, or it'll never boot)... Needless to say, the advice above helped, but Creo is absymally slow, and seems to be running in 32-bit mode... Anyone know how to keep the ARM parameters, but kick it over to 64-bit?

I recently purchased Creo from 3HTi and installed it on my Mac using Parallels Desktop. However, I faced an issue where Creo wouldn't launch at all--nothing happened when I tried to run it. After researching, I found out that this could be related to modifying the parametric.psf file, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to access or edit that file correctly.

In urgent need of a solution, I reached out to 3HTi's support team, and I'm happy to share that they were extremely responsive and knowledgeable. They guided me through every step needed to make Creo work under the Parallels environment on macOS.

Here's what worked for me thanks to their help:

  • Ran Parallels in "Windows 10/11 for Engineering" configuration for better graphics compatibility.

  • Updated the OpenGL settings in Parallels to ensure Creo could access proper rendering.

  • With their help, I also learned how to copy and modify the parametric.psf using administrative privileges, something I couldn't figure out on my own.
After these tweaks, Creo now runs smoothly on my Mac via Parallels. I couldn't be more satisfied with the software and especially the support I received.

Thank you, 3HTi, for the outstanding customer service and helping me get up and running quickly!
