Probably a suggestion to who cannot make Ubuntu 14.04 work in Parallels

Hi All,
after trying many times, I would like share some my "thought" to tackle the missing menu bar
but first of all, please forgive my english

1. after installing the Parallels Tools,
2. use Ctr + Alt + Fn + F1 and then log in as USER account
3. cd /etc/X11
4. sudo mv xorg.conf.<date> xorg.conf
5. cd
6. sudo rm -rf ~/.config
7. sudo restart

if still cannot work properly,
try Ctr + Alt + Fn + F1 again with USER account, and try to
cd ~/.config
to see the folder still exist or not, if yes, repeat 6. to remove it
after that
check Ctr + Alt + Fn + F2
to make sure the ~/.config are removed
and so on till to F6
then
Ctr + Alt + Fn + F7 to return to GUI

it should work...hopefully

Wish I had found this earlier -- yes, exactly this: after install of Parallels Tools, there is no file /etc/X11/xorg.conf. As a result, the problem I found was that the display settings did not offer any choice of screen resolutions. Doing the above to create an xorg.conf (even without editing it) and after restart I had a choice of screen sizes.
