PPTP VPN connection not working on guest since macOS Catalina?

Hi all,

some strange behaviour on my Win10 Guest OS since the upgrade to macOS Catalina...

I seem to be unable to connect to a PPTP VPN connection on Windows. The Windows OS is connecting, but right after the connection it gets deconnected again.
I know/experienced that the PPTP connections are fully blocked on macOS since Catalina (I used to solve this via ShimoVPN, but even that is not working anymore). This means I have to grab back to my Windows guest system to connect to the clients VPN, but that seems not a valid option anymore.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue or am I doing something wrong?
If so, please advice on how I can fix this issue.

According to the IT manager at my Employer and all my fellow Mac users, Apple broke VPN support in Catalina. I have a broken VPN too. This may not be a Parallels issue.
