Parallels stopped working "Non system disk or disk error" after archiving

Hi everyone,
In the dialogue to safe harddrive space I accidentally clicked on "archiving". Then, Parallels was busy "archiving", whatever that meant - and afterwards I had to retreive Windows. (Sorry about the wording, I've got the German version and everything is called differently.)

Now I can't boot windows anymore, the starting screen flickers between "Non system disk or disk error" and
"Boot Skipped. Windows Boot Manager
Boot Skipped. EFI Hard Drive

I tried to reconnect the harddrive to the hdd file in the pvm package, also I tried to de-/activate EFI with vm.bios.efi=1 and vm.bios.efi=0 ...
Any idea what I can do? I didn't do anything fancy, basically just clicked on a button Parallels was offering... :-/

If it helps: I've got Windows 10 running on Parallels 14 (normally)

Hi Maria,
checking the folders of the mounted disks as described in the post below, I don't find any personal data. Also even though the package size is 15GB, the folder sizes don't indicate much content:
C containing a folder called "System Volume Information" (20KB)
D containing "System Volume Information" (20KB) and "Recovery" (414MB)
E containing "EFI" (329KB)

Regarding the backup, which file/folder would I need to recover from my time machine? Just the .pvm?

Hi,
I was able to recover the backup, using the .pvm file. The backup is not too outdated, so it works for me - but in general I find it strange that the "archiving" function of Parallels seems to have shredded my VM...

Glad to know that your backup works, I'll test the archiving process on my side and continue the issue investigation.
