Parallels keeps modifying /etc/hosts

Since the update to Parallels 15 Parallels keeps updating /etc/hosts with entries for <vmname>.shared, messing up my DNS names.

For example, a VM "paul" known to my DNS as paul.mydomain and to my Mac per search domain as just "paul", now resolves to "paul.shared" occassionally, pointing to whatever IP address Parallels thought should apply.

Is there some way to disable this helpful feature?
