Parallels Desktop for Mac computers with Apple silicon M4 chips

I just moved from M2 Mac Mini to M4 Pro Mac mini and my vm's will not longer start. I'm using Desktop 19, and I also tried to create a new Windows 11 machine and that will not start either. The program does not really give me much feedback. I would not think there would be an issue with M2 vs M4

Just got my M4 based Mac yesterday. Purchased and installed Parallels Desktop and it had rainbow spinner after product activated. Forced quit after a long time waiting. Relaunched and it came up to the screen to install Windows 11 and before I could do anything it was a rainbow spinner again. Force quit, rebooted and very similar on any launches. I suspect the M4 is too new and not well tested yet. If there are steps I should try to get the product to behave, let me know.

Just completed a migration from an M1 Mac mini to the new M4 Mac Mini. The transferred Windows 11 VM didn't work and immediately throws an error stating it was unable to start.

I then deleted it and reinstalled Parallaxes from scratch, attempted to install Windows 11 from the installer, same error.

I then tried Ubuntu and same error.

I'm using Parallels 19, is this not compatible with M4 Macs?

Hi, I just got a new M4 Pro Mac 2 days ago and Installed Parallels Desktop 20 on my Mac, then tried to install Windows 11 bu I was unable to make it work. I always get the same error and the VM can't start.

Hi,
I can't start the virtual machine on my MacMini M4. On a M3 MacBookAir everything works fine. I already installed it twice and had some restarts of the Mac without any change. Any suggestions?

Hello,
Please note that is a known issue with Parallels Desktop App Store Edition, our development team is currently working on this issue.
As a temporary work-around, please download and use Parallels Desktop 20.1.1 build using the link: https://download.parallels.com/desktop/v20/20.1.1-55740/ParallelsDesktop-20.1.1-55740.dmg

Also your KB article update says it's a problem with v19 and Mac Store Edition, but there is a customer with version 20 reporting the same issue as well.

I'm running MBP with M4 Pro with Parallels Version 20.1.1 (55740).
I can't get any Ubuntu OS installed. I've tried 24.04 Desktop and Server with ARM and 22.04 Server with ARM. Neither of them can be installed.
I was able to install 24.04 Desktop but after "sudo apt upgrade" and restarting i get a kernel panic. The server installations all cancel after a while.
Have you tried this on your side?

Pramesh,
I have the same situation that others are describing. I saw that you are asking us to download an update for version 20; what about us that we have version 19?
Thanks,
Fred
