Are you running Leopard?

As i can see your version is 4124, while the latest is 5584. So upgrade and your problem should be solved.

Hmm.

I don't want to upgrade to 3.0, I've been hearing horror stories. Does anyone have an installer for the most recent version BEFORE 3.0?

Hello,

Scottmcleod, please update to 5584 as it is specially designed fully Leopard-compatible build.

Your build 4124 is Parallels Desktop 3.0 version. So you should only update. This is supposed to fix your crash issues.

here is the horror story....

Scott... your version does not work with the most recent updates of Leopard and the most recent Parallels does not work with the most recent version of Leopard... so we are all kind of in a jam. This is what I am getting....

Parallels will not work after using XP on Bootcamp.
(1) Parallels installs and works fine until you need to boot IN XP mode.
(2) When you reboot back into Mac mode, Parallels will have died and generates the same error Sandy reported: "Parallels Desktop is unable to operate properly since it cannot communicate with one of its drivers. Try to restart the application to overcome this issue. If restart doesn't help, re-install Parallels Desktop. Note that Parallels drivers require a short time to be properly started and initialized. So you may need to wait a minute before trying to launch the application."
(3) I must uninstall and reinstall Parallels in order to get it to work again. The other work around that I am doing is I have a copy of Parallels saved as "Parallels Recovery" which I simply delete my current copy of Parallels and rename the recovery. This is SUCH a pain and only started happening since January.

Jarret777, your post is off topic. Parallels-Boot Camp issues are not related to Leopard compatibility issues. I have already given you an answer in another thread. Just repeating here: have a look at this article.
