Parallels 11, MacOS X Yosemite, and win7

I had to upgrade from Parallels 8 to Parallels 11 and after a period of time my sound stopped working and I would have to reboot windows to get it back.
Has anyone else ran into this problem?
Does anyone know if Parallels 11 works with win7?
Will using an earlier version of Parallels work better for win7?
