Parallels 11 Desktop problem after upgrade to El Capitan

PAULA3

Bit poster
Since upgrading to El Capitan, the shortcuts for accessing programs in a virtual machine seems to have lost the associated application and I get prompted to select an application to open the document. If I selected Parallels Desktop as the application, then the files open ok (although it is pretty annoying having to do this every time). This problem occurs on all my virtual machines (Win10 and Linux).
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might fix this issue.

Hi, did you try to reinstall Parallels Desktop application? Also please check the version of it, we've released the minor update of Parallels Desktop 11 and you can update it and check the issue.
Also please reinstall the Parallels Tools and let us know the results.

Hi All, any news on this issue, i have a tech support call at 21:00 BST tonight ( #2177370) on the same thing.
Have a MBP which i upgraded to Parallels 11 before i ran the OSX 10.11 update and now the same issue.
if i click on the windows apps folder it say it can't find a program to open this with, and i manually have to point to
the parallel windows application folder and to the app.
i have Win 8.1 as my VM machine. all was working perfectly in Yosemite and Parallels 11.
i have removed and reinstalled the version i have is 11.0.1-31277

Update after remote support login.
Known issue being worked on and should be out in the next release, if you have a tech report case number they will advise you when ready.

I'm using the latest version of Parallels. I did a complete re-install of Parallels but the problem still exists.

Similar problem here. Just upgraded to El Capitan and now Desktop 11 has lost the associated application and when application is manually selected it is very slow to open. Sometimes >45sec. Also doesn't recognize as a "Parallels" file in Finder. Need fix.

The latest bug fix (Version 11.0.2 (31348)) has fixed this problem. Thank you Parallels for sorting this issue out nice and quickly.

Brilliant, Thank You.. a little thing but when you use coherence a lot for work as most programs run on Windows backbone it was getting annoying..
Thank You Techs for a quick fix...
