Option "Connect Cable at Startup" broken in RC2

The "Connect Cable at Startup" option in "Network Adapter Options" is broken. I have this option unchecked but the VM (Windows 2000) has network connectivity when it is started. The icon on the status line states that it is not connected but it is (I can surf the web).

If I connect it and then dis-connect it the connection is severed. I am using "Bridged Ethernet". This happens on RC1 and RC2.

I hope you can fix this before the product is released.

It is also broken in beta 6 (and probably in previous betas but I haven't checked).
