Netflix Windows 11 app crashes when playing downloaded content

I bought parallels for the same reason. Install Netflix, download movies and watch them offline.
The download works fine but watching them is causing Netflix to shut down... Waiting for a solution here also!

As for now, there are no news on this issue from our Development Team.

However, we have contacted the Development team and let them know again that you want this issue to be resolved faster.

Once we get any information, we will contact you.

Thank you for understanding.

Have a nice week!
Hello, any update from the development team? As has been stated by many others, this is an important use case for parallels - using it for netflix downloads (since the netflix app is only available on windows).

Hi inviktus,

As of this moment, we do not have an update from the Development Team.
However, once there is a response from Development Team - whether it is a request for additional information, a workaround or a permanent fix - we will let you know.

In the meantime, you can subscribe to this article https://kb.parallels.com/en/129060 and click on the "get updates" button to be notified of future updates.

Im also have the same issue reported. Netflix app plays streamed videos, but once downloaded the app crashes on playing.

Im a new user to Parallels, currently in trial period and testing the platform for buying the license.
But with this bug and how the support and development team will deal with this request will be a great case if it is really worth paying.

Incredible and unacceptable that this was not addressed in a brand new major release. Unbelievably frustrating and causing me to consider cancelling my subscription.

Having the same problem here. Running Parallels on a Mac mini M2 (i.e. ARM). Netflix app works fine when connected to the Internet, but when offline trying to watch a downloaded movie, crashes every time. Just thought I'd pipe in to confirm this is a problem and that more of us would like to see it fixed. Thanks!

Is there any update form the Dev. team? Numerous Windows upgrades since, and no fix. Radio silence from Parallels. Completely unacceptable.

Hello!
First of all, we do understand the issue is annoying but actually the issue can't be fixed from our side and requires an input from Microsoft.
Kindly open Microsoft Feedback Hub and add your vote to have the issue fixed sooner: https://aka.ms/AAn0zib.

Mikhail, please provide specifics on what probable is occurring on the Microsoft side. As has already been proven in this thread, Netflix downloads work fine on ARM PC's running this version of Windows 11. The failure is only in the Parallels VM. Therefore, please provide further detail, so we can provide that to MS in Feedback Hub.

Confirmed same behavior in VMware Fusion 13.5, so perhaps it is an MS thing. So, I ask the Parallels team, what Feedback we should submit to MS? Because in a non-VM, on ARM, Netflix downloads work fine. So what's the issue?

Hello everyone
Happy to learn that I m not the only one but deceived to read that it can't be fixed yet. Netflix on mac was a huge reason why I paid for Parallels...
Any chance we get news soon about this?
Thank you all

Note Parallels blames MS, tells us to report to MS, then gives us no info on what to report, despite being requested several times. So they "know" it's an MS issue, but give us know info on what to report.
