This problem must be too easy . . .but I can't figure it out.
On macbook M3, I have parallels desktop latest release, with Centos9 VM, up-to-date. and prltoolsd updated to latest version.
In its configuration I have 'synchronize time with host' and 'set hostname from name configured on host' . On the guest, I have the prltools running
YET, if I deploy a centos9 from template, the hostname remains localhost.localdomain and after the laptop has slept, the time doesn't get synchronized to the guests, unless I restart the VM.
I must be the only one with this issue, as I don't see any other questions about this. Can anyone tell me where I go wrong?
