macOS VM Customize Disk Size at Install?

I just created a Sonoma VM to do some testing. I went to clone the VM and don't have room on my hosts's disk - it turns out that the VM is almost 140GB in size. I don't need a VM that big... If I could get away with a 40GB VM, I would do that. As expected, I can't shrink the disk once it's been created.

Is there a way to customize the disk size when I'm first creating the VM?

(I've gone through the setup a couple times now and can't find a way to do it)

Thank in advance!

When creating a new macOS VM, you can delete the default (256 GB max size, IIRC) virtual disk and create a new one, of the desired size (for example, 64 GB), to replace it.

There's simply no adding or subtracting here. Keep up the good work as they say. This is already normal, wow. I can't even imagine this.
This can be done using disk cloning tools or creating backups and restoring them on a new virtual machine.
