I'm experiencing an issue with Stage Manager functionality when using multiple instances of Windows applications in Coherence mode. The details of my setup and the problem are as follows:
System Information:
Clicking on a second instance of the Windows app acts as if clicking on the desktop, closing both instances.
System Information:
- MacOS Version: 15.0.1 (24A348)
- Parallels Desktop Version: Version 21.0.0 (55732)
- Windows Version: Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631
- Coherence Mode: Enabled
- Stage Manager: Enabled
- When using a single instance of a Windows app in Stage Manager, everything works as expected.
- Problems occur when using multiple instances of the same Windows app (e.g., two Windows Explorer windows) side by side in Stage Manager:
- Initially, both instances appear and function correctly.
- However, when Stage Manager switches to other apps and I bring back one of the Windows app instances, both appear side by side, but:
- Clicking on one instance acts as if I'm clicking on the desktop.
- This action closes both instances of the app.
- It's always unclear to me which one will do this; sometimes it's the left, other times it seems the right. - This issue only affects Windows applications. Multiple instances of macOS apps (e.g., Safari) work correctly in Stage Manager.
- Open two instances of a Windows app (e.g., Windows Explorer) in Coherence mode.
- Arrange them side by side using Stage Manager.
- Switch to a different app using Stage Manager.
- Bring back one of the Windows app instances.
- Attempt to interact with either instance of the Windows app.
- If it happens to work, repeat and try the other instance.
Clicking on a second instance of the Windows app acts as if clicking on the desktop, closing both instances.
