Invalid Product Key

I am on Parallels 5, Mac OS 10.6. I am trying to install Windows 7 for first time. I type in Product Key and it seems to be accepted. Installation starts. A couple of minutes in, I get an Invalid Product Key error. I have triple-checked Key. It appears correct. I bought CDs from a very large, national electronics store (i.e. I think legit). Any help appreciated.

Please use the custom installation mode while installing Windows 7.

This will install Windows 7 onto Parallels.

these instructions don't work

I have parallels 7 and am getting the same error message when installing. the instructions above do not work. please help.
