Trying to reinstall Parallels after a year away from the machine. Get this error code when trying to install on the same partition as Boot Camp

Error: PRL_ERR_DISK_INVALID_BLOCKSIZE (0x80021009)

Path: '/Users/Office2/Parallels/My Boot Camp.pvm/Hitachi HDE721064SLA360 (disk2).hdd'

The partition is NTFS format? Any ideas?

Bit more info. Installing to Windows 10 on a Mac Pro 5.1. Windows install as well as Boot Camp drivers are all up to date. Hitachi drive is a platter drive.

Where is what is called SUPPORT? I just spent one hell of a lot of money for a pile of crap that will not even install on my machine.

Gve me solutions or refund my money. This is bullshit!
 
I get a failure to install with the following reason given

I am running a Mac Pro with Windows 10 installed on a dedicated platter drive that functions properly. It was installed directly without using Boot Camp and with only the installer disk and the target drive in the machine. Boot Camp drivers etc were installed later.

I have reported this several times and got responses from several different people but no solution. When I finally got a phone number from you to call I am now told the ticket is closed. This nonsense has been going on for a number of weeks

Please give me a ticket number so I can call in and get this done

Also when I try and create a ticket and click on the How Do I Get A Code link, NOTHING HAPPENS. JUST WONDERFUL!!!

I am getting the same error. Has there been any resolution on this?

Failed to configure the Boot Camp partition's hard disk.
A disk configuration error has occurred. Make sure that you have read/write permissions for the disk.

Then I do a 'More details...'

To date I have no solution. I have gone through three levels of tech support types and now it has been turned over to their engineers to go back to the drawing board with.

In my case though it is arising on a Mac Pro with OSX on one drive and BC on a second drive. Parallels is happiest when they are both on the same drive.

There are some more esoteric issues too if you are using an old Mac Pro (2010) the HD protocol for BC is MBR and apparently now it is something called GUID. I had a long go around with a very patient apple tech when trying to put BC on the separate drive where you use a sort of masking layer to make the device appear to have the right protocol. At the end of the day just gave up and used the BC installer disk directly to the HD and added BC drivers later. Sorry if my techieness is not really tech literate but hopefully you get the idea.

Parallels engineers said they would contact me again when they have a solution. It has been a couple of weeks already so not holding my breath.
 
Unfortunately I am still getting an error. I should mention that the bootcamp (windows 10) partition is on an external SSD (USB3). So this is an unsupported use of Bootcamp. Should this configuration be supported in Parallels?

I have the same problem. Do you already have a prediction of when they will solve this? We are many in need of the collaboration of your product! Please, the situation is critical.

This issue was never solved by Tech and after running around in circles for months basucally said - if we ever gourde it out we will get back to you. Nothing heard from them in months.

It appears they are not able to cope with having parallels on an OS X drive and having W10 on a separate drive. Short sighted I'n my view
