How to prevent VM startup if this will result in no/low memory on host?

Hi - I am running Parallels 8 usually with Windows guests on a Macbook with 8GB. The Windows guests are normally configured with 4GB of main mem.

I have usually one VM open to work with (need 4GB from my 8 available GB).

It now happens that I need to run a tool (rar/zip or others) that is hosted in another VM. Once I open a file on the mac that requires rar, the VM is being started that contains the rar application resulting in a unresponsive mac (as two VMs with each 4GB are being run on a 8GB mac).

The mac is than unresponsive and no action can be performed to shutdown one of the VMs or to orderly reboot the mac. I lost quite some data because of this situation.

Is there a may for Parallels to warn me that starting another VM will result in a problematic memory situation?

Thanks for your help!

Cheers
Peter
