How to clone an external HD (e.g Samsung)?

I have windows 7 and all my programs on a bootable samsung external drive.

On my PC, I simply plug it into a USB port and when the laptop is powered on it boots from the drive.

I'm trying to clone this external drive into parallels and have no idea where to start, would appreciate any suggestions and have browsed the forum to no success.

Hi AdrianR1. If you have installed the programs to the external drive from the Windows 7 PC, then the programs can be accessed only from that PC and it is not possible to use the same programs on a different Windows PC/virtual machine without reinstallation of the programs.
