Are you trying to use Windows XP as Guest OS?
What is your Host OS?
What is your Mac model?

Can you create a new virtual machine or do you need the old one?

Good morning, I have the same problem. I have the latest build. I downloaded and re-installed it and still have the same error message. Any suggestions? Thank you.
 
Having the same problem, I believe it was caused by a recent software upgrade from Apple.
Tried to install the newest build, but still not fixed.
Please help.
 
I called Parallels support and it turned out that the windows portion of my hard drive was toast. I had to uninstall/delete Parallels & Windows, then reinstall everything. I only lost 4 days of data, it could have been much worse. You may be best off paying/calling in for a support call.

Fortunately I use Windows XP only when necessary and backup all data immediately. It seems that reinstall Parallels and XP is the easiest way for now.
