1. Created ubuntu system using ZFS as filesystem (the ubuntu one - not the host Mac).
2. Started install of Parallels tools - wouldn't run
3. Log shows repeated retries to access an installer file but tools install says software update has it locked. Its not locked and no software update is running.
4. Tried it with a 'normal' Ext4 file system - worked ok.
5. I suspect the tools install process doesn't understand the ins and outs of *nix file systems and differences when ZFS is involved. I'd hate to think what the implications are for btrfs
