Does the known RemoteApp Japanese IME issue on Windows Server 2025 also affect Parallels RAS?

    Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding a known issue that occurs with Microsoft RemoteApp. Since Parallels RAS also relies on the RDP protocol, I would like to know if anyone has experienced this same issue in a Parallels RAS environment.

    Issue Description:

In a scenario where applications are published from Windows Server 2025, there is a known bug where inputting and converting Japanese characters fails, eventually causing the published application to freeze.

Specifically, when typing Japanese, the alphabet characters (Romaji) remain stuck on the screen and the conversion does not complete properly.

Example: When trying to type "henshuu" (へんしゅう), it incorrectly outputs something like "nsへんしゅう", followed by the application freezing.

    Known Workaround:

For standard RemoteApp, it has been confirmed that we can avoid this issue by reverting to the legacy Microsoft IME on the client endpoint:

    1. Go to Settings > Time & language > Language & region.

    2. Click the ... (three dots) next to Japanese and select Language options.

    3. Under Keyboards, select Microsoft IME > Keyboard options > General.

    4. Scroll down to Compatibility and turn ON "Use previous version of Microsoft IME".
    My Question:

Has anyone encountered this specific Japanese IME conversion issue and subsequent freezing when publishing applications from Windows Server 2025 using Parallels RAS? If so, is the workaround the same, or does Parallels RAS have any built-in handling/fixes for this?

Any insights or confirmations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
