Difference between PD for Mac SUBSCRIPTION and PERMANENT LICENCE?

What is the difference between PD for Mac SUBSCRIPTION and PD for Mac PERMANENT LICENCE? I appear to have both in my account. Are these two different things?

There are no steps suggested in the article and your answer doesn't address my question! I have taken out a subscription for Parallels - is it normal for my account to be showing both the above items?
