Cursor not changing according to guest

Hello.

I have an ARM64 arch system on an m2 Mac. The cursor on screen retains the appearance of the host mac cursor, regardless of the guest theme or whether it should change when hovering over buttons or resizing windows. I've tried reinstalling parallels tools repeatedly and every combination of 'optimize for gaming' with they keyboard and mouse settings. This also happens on both KDE plasma and GNOME 3 desktops. Any tips would be appreciated. I'm hoping this isn't just a macOS limitation.
 
I have no clue what I did, but it's working now. Only things I can think of that I did was running updates on the guest side and enabling the 'full disk access' permission on the host side.
