Copy/Paste stopped working

Copy/paste from Mac OS X to Windows XP doens't work anymore.

Does anyone else has this problem?

Trying to solve the issue I tried the following actions:

I reinstalled the latest Parallels version (Build 5582). I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.11.
I also reinstalled Paralell Tools under Win XP.
I tried different Win XP images but neither of them lets me copy text from Mac OS to Windows.
I rebooted Mac OS X and Win XP several times.
I tried copying text using the key commands and using the edit menus.

I can however still copy text from Windows to Mac OS.

Drag & Drop from Mac OS to Windows also stopped working. When I drag a file to the Windows Desktop I see a prohibited sign appear. I can still drag items from Windows to the Mac OS.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

I'm having the same problem

Although I installed Build 5582 a couple of weeks ago, I started having the same copy-paste problem from Mac OS to Windows XP yesterday. I'm running 10.4.11 on a 2x3 GHz Dual-Core Intel. Haven't found a solution -- came here looking for a fix :-)

I also installed the Security Update 2007-009...
But I can't confirm if the problem was already present before the update.

Also have symptom - cannot copy from Mac and paste to Windows

I have 10.4.11 on a first gen MacBook Core Duo 2.0 ghz. Noticed it after installing Parallels 5582 and Security Update 2007-009

Same problem!!

I just did the update, reinstalled parallels tools and am having the same problem.

I have a IMAC with 10.4.11.

I'm also running Parallels 5582 on 10.4.11 and have installed Security Update 2007-009. I can confirm that the copy/cut paste was working before I installed Security Update 2007-009 and now does not work.

Ditto here-- I am new on MAc and wasnt sure whether I imagined I was able to do it or not.

Looks like it is a prob.

Ah, this is good info. I figured it was 5582 at fault, but based on this thread it looks to be the Apple Security update.

Copying from the VM works fine, but pasting into a VM blanks out the clipboard.

I was found the workaround.
Backup the /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundaation.framewok before install Security Update.
Copy backuped /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundaation.framewok.
Next reboot time Copy and Paste works.

Does anyone know what the workaround is if you've already run the update? In other words, how to restore to a good /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework?

I just applied this update this morning, and when I attempted to copy text from my 10.4.11 MacBook Pro into my WinXPSP2 guest, Parallels completely locked up/stopped responding, and shortly thereafter my whole machine locked up, requiring a hard reboot.

FYI - I've noticed frequently in the past that copy/paste will occasionally stop working, and I'll disable/enable/clear clipboard contents in the guest WinXP, and it'll start working again.

Confirmed

I have the same behavior after installing Security Update 2007-009. A work around would be much appreciated.

Hello all,

Our Engineers are investigating the issue. We suspect it to be caused by the recent Tiger security update.
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Best regards,

Hi Xenos,

It's now almost 2 weeks since your 25 December post indicating that Engineering was looking into the possibility that the Tiger security update was what broke the OSX to WIN XP clipboard.

Wondering if there's any status update yet?

Many thanks,

Muiz

Hello Muiz,

The update is coming soon. The fix for copy-paste issue is ready but there are some other fixes to be included in the build that make us postponing the release. This is a question of a few days. We apologize for making you waiting.

Best regards,
Xenos

Many thanks for the quick reply, Xenos, and to the Engineering team for their work during the holidays.

Muiz

Hello Rail,

Do you have the copy-paste issue with Tiger and the build 3124?
We've only received these reports from Tiger + 5160/5582 users till now.

Best regards,
Xenos
