Completely Virtual VS. Bootcamp import (64bit win7 vs. 32bit)

I've been playing around with PD5 and i decided that i would import my windows 7 system into a virtual machine, the problem is that it doesn't seem to run as well as I'd like and i was wondering if there's a reason for it that I'm missing.

I was just wondering if anyone could answer a few questions for me....

The first is, would it be faster if instead of importing the installation from bootcamp I just installed it clean as a new virtual machine?

The second is, my windows 7 installation is 64 bit; would it be faster if i just installed the 32bit version?

and finally, how are people finding running windows 7 in PD5 in general?

Not sure about speed of a Parallels VM running off a virtual hard disk vs. a VM running off BootCamp. You could give this a try by installing a separate VM on a virtual hard drive.

32bit vs 64bit: There have been reports here that 32bit is faster but personally I have not made that observation.

I am running an 832 MB Windows 7 VM on my MBAir 1.6 GHz and I am very satisfied with the speed, including the speed with which I switch between Mac and Windows (which is the whole point of the VM for me). I use MS Office and a game every once in a while. The VM is doing very well on games that match the 1.6 GHz spec, such as Battle for Middle Earth or Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War. It also runs older games such as Fallout (my current favourite) very well.
