Can upgrade price be used to "upgrade" from subscription key?

I bought a 1 year subscription last year when version 16 came out. 17 came out during this time so I upgraded to that. I don't use Parallels that often (maybe every other month) so I decided to drop the subscription. If I do so can I use the Upgrade price to purchase the current version I have installed or do I need to make a new one time purchase?
