Hi,
My 2015 MacBook Pro is running out of HD (Hard drive) space. I want to install windows 7 and I have a brand new 500 GB External Hard Drive. In parallels 10 would I be able to select this external hard drive as the hard drive for the windows 7 virtual machine. Would it be possible to do this and have a successful installation? Would there be any problem as the installation would have to be done with an usb external hard drive plugged in ?

Helo KaosportsB, You can install and run the Windows virtual machine from an external hard drive. Kindly follow the instructions from this link.
 
This is an interesting topic! Using an external hard drive for installation can be a great solution for managing space. I've done something similar, but it's important to ensure the drive is formatted correctly and compatible with Parallels. "It's technically possible to use an external hard drive to install Windows 7 on Parallels, but it might come with some limitations. Parallels typically runs best with an internal drive for speed and stability. If you do use an external drive, make sure it's a fast one (like an SSD over USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt) to avoid slow performance.
