Bug Report: “Download Audio” Does Not Work with YouTube on Windows
Product: Parallels Toolbox for WindowsVersion: 7.1.1-4366
Operating System: Windows 11 Home
Affected Tool: Download Audio
Problem Description
The Download Audio feature in Parallels Toolbox does not work properly with YouTube or YouTube Music URLs on my Windows 11 PC.When I copy and paste a YouTube or YouTube Music URL into Download Audio, Parallels Toolbox fails to detect the audio and displays the following error message:
The important point is that the same URL works correctly with Parallels Toolbox on macOS.“No audio found in the file.”
Therefore, this appears to be specific to the Windows version of Parallels Toolbox rather than a problem with the YouTube URL itself.
Example URL
I tested the following YouTube Music URL:I also converted and tested it as a standard YouTube URL:
Both URLs fail in Parallels Toolbox for Windows with the same message:
“No audio found in the file.”
Comparison Between macOS and Windows
macOS
- Parallels Toolbox Download Audio: Works correctly
- The audio is detected and can be downloaded normally.
Windows 11 Home
- Parallels Toolbox version: 7.1.1-4366
- Download Audio: Does not work
- Error: “No audio found in the file.”
- Both YouTube Music and standard YouTube URLs were tested.
Steps to Reproduce
- Run Parallels Toolbox 7.1.1-4366 on Windows 11 Home.
- Open Download Audio.
- Copy the following URL:
- Paste the URL into Download Audio.
- Wait for Parallels Toolbox to analyze the URL.
- The application displays:
“No audio found in the file.”
Expected Result
Parallels Toolbox should detect the audio stream and allow the audio to be downloaded, as it currently does with Parallels Toolbox on macOS.Actual Result
The Windows version fails to detect the audio stream and displays:“No audio found in the file.”
Additional Information
I confirmed that my Windows edition is Windows 11 Home, not Windows 11 N or KN.I also confirmed that I am running Parallels Toolbox 7.1.1-4366.
Since the same YouTube URL works correctly with Parallels Toolbox on macOS but fails on Windows, this may indicate an issue with the YouTube audio/video detection or extraction component in the Windows version of Parallels Toolbox.
I also noticed that other Windows users have recently reported similar issues with YouTube audio/video downloading in the Parallels community forum.
Request
Could you please:- Confirm whether this is a known issue with Parallels Toolbox 7.1.1 for Windows.
- Check whether recent changes to YouTube or YouTube Music have affected the Windows Download Audio component.
- Let me know whether a fix or updated build is currently available.
- If no fix is currently available, please forward this issue to the Parallels Toolbox development team for investigation.
Thank you.
