BootCamp Transporter Agent Migration (Windows 7)

I have tried to convert my Windows 7 BootCamp partition twice now using the transporter agent, it completes just fine, but then when it tries to start up it goes through a configuration process (step 1 of 4) process and after about 10 minutes tells me there is no operating system available (basically hangs on step 1). I even tried booting to the Windows 7 CD as a boot option to see if I could repair the O/S but no love there either. I wonder if the master boot record is jacked because I only chose 1 volume instead of the other.

I have a 256GB solid state drive, half is allocated to win7 and the other half to osX. I only want the win7 volume transferred into a VM so I can delete the other partition and reclaim space.

The conversion process over the network takes about 2.5 hours -- so I really don't want to have to do this 4 more times. ;-)

Basically I had to force the VM to boot using CD (change boot order to CD/DVD 1st then harddrive 2nd), I then had to change the CD/DVD to the physical MAC CD/DVD device instead of the Windows7 ISO image. Once it booted into the install prompt I chose to repair. It didn't list any found operating system, instead I selected next (to repair) then selected startup repair, it forced a reboot and then the O/S loaded properly.

I was then able to reboot a few times to make sure things were working as expected. Afterwards I deleted my bootcamp partition (have a single MAC O/S now) and the parallels VM is working great, in fact I didn't even have to reactivate.

Now that I have worked through the snags, very happy with the end result.

What is even more interesting is that the VM created is not the size of the bootcamp partition, it only copied over 60GB of data, even though my BootCamp partition said I was using 76GB of used space. Inside the VM the C:\> drive still shows that it has 118GB of space allocated, even though it doesn't. I suspect I would need to resize the drive, but to be honest I could care less about Windows thinks it needs, given that the VM is working great and is not consuming 118GB of space.
 
I have been trying this, but I can't get it to boot from my Win 7 DVD. The KB link says it applies to Parallels 5, but the tabs and buttons aren't exactly the same. I just tried to set it up with the same settings. I changed the boot order, as well as the CD/DVD to the physical OD, and I even switched the IDE settings so that the DVD was master and the HDD slave. I also checked the box to choose boot device at startup. It just goes through the motions and says no bootable device. Any suggestions?
